Daily Union (Monthly, Korea News Newspaper) Ju-un Journalist | KG Mobility's first electric vehicle Torres EVX has been under fire for software defects and fire accidents.
On December 16, 2023, another car collided with the rear of the KGM Torres EVX on a riverside road near Geumgok-dong, Buk-gu, Busan, causing the Torres EVX to burst into flames and burn down immediately after the accident.
Since then, KGM has started to extinguish the Torres EVX Fire by explaining in a statement, "Even though the vehicle has burned down, the LFP battery condition is not a problem.“
About 1,700 units of the KGM Torres EVX have been sold since its launch in September 2023 until November 2023.
Demand was high at the beginning, citing the differentiation of a mid-sized electric SUV model worth around 30 million won, but complaints about consumer safety such as software defects have soared since then, mainly in online communities.
