Daily Union (Monthly, Korea News Newspaper) Ju-un Journalist | The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that the Kona, which was manufactured and sold by Hyundai Motor, has been recalled since February 15, 2024.
This is due to Hyundai Motor's Kona's 18,664 production units between December 23, 2022 and December 22, 2023, and a defect in the manufacture of engine room junction box battery wiring has identified the risk of fire that could interfere with the safety of passengers.
Hyundai's the all-new KONA, which was launched in January 2023, was recalled for 2,222 units in March 2023, two months after its launch, and Hyundai's older Kona 101 units.
It is known that the recall was made due to a manufacturing defect in which the seat belt buckle was not properly fastened, and there was a possibility of an anxiety that could not protect passengers if the vehicle collided.
